St. Kilda Beach

Even though my birthday was on Friday I celebrated it on Saturday with scones and cake and lovely company. But yesterday I went to St. Kilda beach because I had a yearning to see water. I ate at Tommy Tucker's in Acland Street before I headed down to the sand and on the way ran into the lovely Elenor Poppa and her daughter. I hadn't seen them for ages. Anyway here's a photo I took of Brooks Jetty. Not entirely sure what I'll be doing on Anzac day, but I've already thought of my grandfather Charles Winter Clarke and my father David Clarke who were in WW1 and WW2 respectively. War's a bitch and looking at the world as it is, it seems that war is going to be part of our psyche for at least the next hundred years.
