Although I walk quite regularly, I've decided to embark on an alternative exercise regime to help with my osteo-arthritis symptoms. Yesterday I booked up at the Kensington Aquatic Centre (only 5 minutes by bus from where I live) ~ where I'll swim twice per week. I walked Melbourne to find a suitable swim-suit (not many options around in Winter, but I eventually settled on a black two piece) and purchased some RPR anti-chlorine shampoo so that my silver/white hair doesn't turn green from the pool chemicals. A quick removal of winter hair-growth this morning and I should be quite confident to approach my task, which shouldn't be too daunting on this cold Winter's day because apparently the pool temperature at the centre is 30 degrees. Oooo, lovely! My aerobic water exercises will include walking in water and doing breast stroke. I'm so glad that they have a 'very slow' lane, because that's where I will be.
