Balancing life's little problems!

I've got the worse cold symptoms ever. Maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but my nose has literally dripped since around 8 am when I headed out into the cold weather to travel by public transport to Melbourne Uni this morning. And the discomfort didn't stop there. Just after I boarded and before I could sit down, the bus started and I landed on the edge of steps leading up to the higher level and hit myself in four different places, leaving me very sore and doubly annoyed!
It WAS nice that people were concerned, but I suddenly felt old, all that fussing and asking 'whether I was alright'. And I WAS alright really, just a little sore, but I imagine the bruises will begin to show through my skin tomorrow. At least I didn't break anything. The young female student announced after I finally settled down in the seat next to her that she fell over in a bus and broke one of her ribs!
I've discovered in life that no matter what you experience and no matter how much pain you're going through there is always someone who has experienced dreadful things, there's always someone worse off. That old saying that goes something like: If all the troubles of the world were placed into one large pile so that everyone could take an equal share, most would be content to take ONLY their own.
Just before I left this morning I discovered  due to the fact that I changed my blog template several times yesterday, my tracking code was no longer working. Never mind, the counter is still clicking over. Then I had an email from Steve saying he'd sorted out some of his computer issues and would like to regularly blog  again, but that I needed to change the size of the text and I'm not sure how to do this, nor do I remember how to place the tracking code onto my blog. I'm sure all these things will be sorted, but attempting to do it when I have a cold is making me thoroughly grumpy. I'm grateful though that my student was understanding even though I  sniffed and blew my nose endlessly throughout the two hour tutorial.
Home is always a comfort, you can throw off clothes that restricted you during the day, discard your socks and shoes, sniff a thousand times without worrying about annoying anyone and just be slovenly, slow, choose to do nothing and graze on food rather than making a cooked dinner.
Because I would like to end on a positive note, I should tell you that yesterday I purchased a pair of New Balance, True Balance walking/toning shoes, which I wore today. They were incredibly comfortable and  because of their design encourage hamstring and calf muscles to work harder. And although I was expecting to print out my images for the next exhibition this afternoon, Beornn had already done them for me and all I had to do was use a manual paper guillotine to cut off the white edge around the images. Seems with all the problems, they somehow managed to be balanced out.

  2. Nice, kind thought Steve, but I'm much better this morning and anyway I'm tutoring again late morning early afternoon on Friday. I'll probably do any shopping I need for weekend on Thursday after my physio appointment. :)
