I'm pleased to be able to introduce another regular contributor to this blog. Mark McDean has been a friend since we first met at Druids Cafe Bar, Melbourne in 1998. Mark is an artist and unique creative individual, who has been described as, having the ability, through both the written and spoken word, to describe a broad ranging landscape to a wide audience/demographic. Between 2001 and 2006 he acted as an Expert Media Commentator, covering areas of popular culture, fashion and contemporary style. Acting as a representative of RMIT University Melbourne he made regular appearances on ABC Radio and Radio National, along with various commercial radio stations. As a writer he has contributed to The Age, Herald Sun and The Australian Magazine, as well as numerous art and design journals, including the online journals Craftcultues.org and Un-magazine. A number of commissions have seen him complete many catalogue essays for art and design exhibitions. I've been watching Mark's artworks with great interest since we first met and I look forward to having him as part of the team. Watch out for Mark's first blog soon.
