The thought of giving up my email addy to yet another crew of spammers made me unhappy straightaway :D
ReplyDeleteI figured, that given it was the ABC, giving them my email would be OK. Also, they ask for a username, rather than your real name so they can put results on the map. I personally think that happiness is fleeting and if I did the test in a few days it may change considerably.
ReplyDeleteThe Australian Privacy Commissioner says " An organisation must not collect personal information unless the information is necessary for one or more of its functions or activities"
ReplyDeleteClearly, watching a television program or participating in an anonymous survey does not necessitate the collection of personal data.
The ABC says "Information is collected from you primarily to make it easier and more rewarding for you to use our services."
Clearly, the provision of personal information does not increase either the enjoyment of a television program or provide any rewards for participation in an anonymous survey.
