A gorgeous couple of Wattle-birds have taken up residence in my Camellia bush near the front balcony. They have been eating some of the bread put out each day for the Magpies and appear to love the secluded surroundings. They are so shy and fly off with the tiniest sound, so I've taken this photo through the fly-wire screen of one of them sitting peacefully. The complex call of the Wattle-bird and Magpie warbles are the measure of my early morning. Occasionally I hear the screech of a Cockatoo that's found an Almond tree or the sound of a passing car, but mostly all is quiet. Every day I remind myself how lucky I am to be living here and I look forward to July when the Camellia flowers bloom. Today I begin thinking about my response to Mark McDean's recent artwork in our Collisions project. Today I'll do my usual walk. Today. Today.
