OK, maybe this is my last word on Australia Day, since it's already passed for another year. This afternoon whilst I was in a retail store I noticed a small black tattoo on a young sales woman's inner arm. The words Made in Australia were placed horizontally on the inside of a map of Australia. I wondered what was being transmitted in this message? Is it simply about being proud to be Australian or is it a matter of if you weren't born here, then bugger off!? I tried in vain to find an image of the tattoo on Google images and didn't realise that there was so much Australiana paraphernalia around. I suppose most of it's sold as souvenirs to those visiting Australia or to those attending the cricket?
