Baby Magpie

This is not a good photograph, because they were at a distance from me, but here is (baby in front, looking down - mother at the back) one of the new baby Magpies, which is about two and a half months old. It is larger than its mother and they are pictured here watching their favorite tree stump and waiting to see an edible insect. They do this each morning after they have eaten the bread that I leave out. When I get the opportunity and when the babies are no longer apprehensive of my presence, I'll post a photograph of them together, as they often are.
