It seems to me that Indigenous people already have a voice and are articulating their urgent needs, which includes strategies to overcome poverty, domestic violence, endemic racism, lack of educational and job opportunities and adequate housing.
If the government supports a Voice to parliament that supports Indigenous input on legislation and policies relating to Indigenous Australians why are they not enacting that immediately rather than holding a Referendum to ask all Australians whether we agree?
